We’re proud to showcase diverse voices and stories from across the Waikato, the Central Region, and beyond — celebrating creativity from all corners of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Submissions are officially closed for the 2026 Misty Flicks Film Festival. A huge thank you to every filmmaker who trusted us with their work this year. Whether it's your first film or your tenth, we know how much time, creativity, persistence, and courage go into getting a film across the finish line and submitted.

This year we've received a record number of submissions, making 2026 our biggest year yet. Our programming team will now watch every eligible film and carefully curate this year's Official Selection. Thank you again for being part of Misty Flicks. We look forward to notifying the finalists on 31 July.
